Ara : Excise Department sleuths along with Bhojpur police conducted raids at Kulharia under Koelwar police station in Bhojpur District  on August 6, 2020, evening,  and seized 14,040 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) packed in 389 cartons worth about Rs 10 lakh from a house though no liquor smuggler could be arrested. A FIR has been lodged with Koelwar police station in this connection against three named persons.

Bhojpur SP Sushil Kumar said that he got information that a big consignment of IMFL had been stored at a house at Kulharia under Koelwar police station. He immediately directed the SHO Koelwar police station to conduct raids there along with the sleuths of the Excise department. On his direction, the SHO Koelwar police station contacted the officials of the Excise department and jointly conducted raids  at Kulharia village and recovered 14,040 bottles of IMFL packed in 389 cartons.

The SP said that the owner of the house Kashi Nath Singh along with his family members did not live there and the house always remains closed.
