Police seize 14 kg Ganja in Buxar, 2 smugglers arrested

Buxar : Police seized 14 kg Ganja worth about Rs 60 lakh in the market and also arrested two smugglers on January 18 in Buxar district.  DSP, Buxar, Kamlapati Singh said that Buxar SP Upendra Kumar Sharma, on a tip off, formed a team led by the DSP and ordered for vehicle checking on Buxar – Ara main road during which police team intercepted a container bearing registration number of Haryana near Balihari village under Buxar town police station and seized 14 kg Ganja.

The Ganja was packed in 94 plastic bundles kept inside the container made for the purpose. The DSP said that police arrested Adil Ali alias Guddu and Hare Kridhna Kanu of Muradabad in Uttar Pradesh though four other jumped off the container and escaped after seeing police, who also seized two number plates from the container the smugglers used to cross the border. The arrested smugglers confessed before police that the consignment was being brought from Guwahati in Assam and was to be delivered to Sinku Singh of Balihari in Buxar district from where Ganja was to be distributed among other smugglers.
