Saharsa : Sonbersa Kutchery police station on November 4, 2017, night, seized 133 carton of IMFL hidden in straw brought over to Saharsa from Haryana by a truck bearing Bihar Number. Police intercepted the truck near Mahuadih on Bharouli – Mohanpur road under Sonbersa Kutchery police station and also arrested three liquor dealers.
Giving this information at a presser at SonbersaKutchery police station on November 5 , Saharsa Sadar SDO Prashant Kumar Chiluka, Simribakhtiarpur SDO Suman Prasad Sah and SDPO, Saharsa, Prabhakar Tiwary, said that police had seized the truck and also an auto without registration number. They said the truck was intercepted when the liquor was being unloaded. SHO, Sonbersa Kutchery police station, Jitendra Kumar reached there on time with force. They said that the liquor dealers had put the Bihar number on the truck to deceive police.
The three arrested liquor dealers were identified as Shankar Kumar and Chintu Kumar of Sulindabad and Sanjiv Kumar of Simribakhtiarpur. Police are looking for five other liquor dealers: Chandan Singh, Prashant Singh and Shankar Singh of village Bharouli, Dhirendra Yadav and Manish Kumar of village Diwari in Saharsa district after the arrested liquor dealers said that they were also involved in illegal trade of liquor. All of them have been made made named accused in the FIR lodged by police in this connection.
