Ara  : Police conducted raids at several places under different police stations in Bhojpur district on May 15, 2017,  evening and seized 133 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and also arrested 10 liquor smugglers. Later, police forwarded all of them them to jail.

Police, acting on tip off, conducted raids near Kutchhari Tola under Khwaspur police outpost under  Barahara block of Bhojpur district on May 15 evening and seized 108 bottles of IMFL besides a  Bolero and arrested a liquor smuggler Nitesh Kumar of Ara. An FIR has been lodged with Khawaspur police outpost under Excise Act in this connection.

Police also conducted raids at Moti Tola under Town police station, Ara,  on May 16 and arrested Abhishek Kumar of Moti Tola and Babloo Kumar of Jail road under Town police station for selling liquor. SHO, Town Police Station, J P Singh said that Abhishek Kumar runs a grocery shop at Moti Tola and sold liquor with the help of Babloo Kumar and for this he gave him Rs 50 per bottle.

Police also seized nine bottles of IMFL from Panwari Musahari village under Sikarhatta police station and arrested Ali Musahar and Rajesh Musahar.

Similarly, police seized 200ml of IMFL from village Kharauna  under Tarari policie station on May 15 evening and arrested two brothers: Umesh Rai and Kamlesh Rai. Police also seized 15 bottles of IMFL and nine litre of countrymade liquor from Majhauli Mahadalit Tola under Bihia police station and Dharmagatpur under Karnamepur police outpost and arrested Sugamuni Ram and Raman Musahar.

Bhojpur police destroyed 25 bottles of IMFL and 91 litre of countrymade liquor at Charpokhari police station on May 16.
