Police seize 13.3 kg Ganja in Bhojpur, 5 smugglers held

Ara : Bhojpur police, on a tip off, conducted raids at village Kueya under Barahra police station in Bhojpur district on May 19, 2018, and seized 13.3 kg of contraband Ganja worth about Rs 1.25 lakh in the international market. Police also arrested 5 Ganja smugglers from the spot.

The arrested Ganja smugglers were identified as Anil Pathak, Sunil Pathak, Vivek Pathak, sons of Umashankar Pathak of Kueya village, Santosh Rai, son of Ram Vyas Rai, and Subhas Rai, son of Shiv Shankar Rai of village Kolharampur.

SHO, Barhara police station, said that he got information that Ganja smuggling was going on from village Kueya. Policeled by the SHO intercepted two motorcycle borne Ganja smugglers: Subhas Rai and Santosh Rai, along with 900 grams of Ganja near village Kueya. They confessed that they were carrying the Ganja from village Kueya to Kolharampur and also revealed the names of Anil Pathak, Sunil Pathak and Vivek Pathak. Police soon conducted raid at the house of the trio and arrested them along with 12.4 kg of Ganja. Later, they were sent to jail.
