Buxar : Police, on a tip off, seized 1,167 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) from a car on September 4, 2020, near Golambar under Buxar Town police station in Buxar District though the liquor smugglers escaped from the spot.
SHO, Buxar Town police station, Ranjeet Kumar, said that police got information that a Maruti Suzuki 800 car allegedly with police sticker was coming towards Buxar crossing the Ganga Bridge at a great speed carrying liquor. The SHO at once sent patrolling vans to different places. Meanwhile, a police patrolling team noticed a car coming via Ganga Bridge. Police tried to stop the car but the driver sped up the car and escaped towards Golambar. Police chased it.
Seeing police coming closer to them, the liquor smugglers escaped leaving the car behind. Police seized the car and when it was searched, they recovered 1,167 bottles of IMFL. The SHO said that an FIR has been lodged with Buxar Town police station in this connection and police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest liquor smugglers.
