Ara : Bhojpur police with the help of their Haryana counterpart recovered a teenage girl and also arrested her lover from Gurgaon on September 28, 2017, and brought them to Ara on September 29.

SHO, Nawada police station, Neyaz Ahamad said that a class X student Baby  (name changed) of Godana Road, Kailash Nagar, under Nawada police station had gone to a Sewing institute on September 6, 2017, but did not return home till late evening. When her family members could not locate her, her father lodged a named FIR with Nawada police station against his driver Rahamat Ali alias Chhotu and three others for kidnapping of the girl.

The father of the girl said that he had employed Rahamat Ali alias Chhotu as his driver. But, his daughter  and Chhotu fell in love about seven months ago. Chhotu had given her a mobile and whenever the family members of the girl were away, Chhotu visited her. But, their family members were opposed to their marriage and so they escaped. The girl took away Rs 10,000 from her home while escaping. Chhotu took her to Delhi, Haryana and West Bengal in ‘burqa’ to hide her identity. In West Bengal, both tied the nuptial knot. In the meantime, police got information through mobile tower that they had taken shelter at Gurgaon.

The SHO said that police would get the statement of the girl recorded under section 164 CrPC when the court will open and also get her medical examination done.
