Patna: A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Patna police led by DSP, Secretariat, and comprising SHOs of Shastrinagar and Gopalpur police stations, recovered a kidnapped stock broker Shahzad Alam, 45, from the house of one Shakaldeep Kumar at Sohagi canal area under Gaurichak police station in Patna district on August 7, 2018.

Shahzad Alam, a native of Phulwrisharif but living in Samanpura locality on Bailey Road, was kidnapped on August 2, 2018, over share market dispute. The kidnapping was executed by 3 persons : Ravi Kumar and Karan Kumar from Maner, and Shakaldeep Kumar of Parsa Bazaar in Patna district. The kidnappers are old aids of Shahzad and brought him money for share market investments through dubious activities. Police quoting Shahzad, said that Ravi, Karan and Shakaldeep owed him over Rs 40 lakh whereas abductors said that Shahzad owed them over Rs 1 crore. Police have arrested Shakaldeep, Ravi Kumar, and Karan Kumar, according to SHO, Shastrinagar PS.

Ravi, Karan and Shakaldeep called Shahzad Alam to Patna on August 2, 2018, offering him new and lucrative deals and investments. Tempted by the offer, Shahzad arrived and was given a car ride and taken to Maner for one day and then to Shaguna the next day. Two days later, Shahzad suspected that he had been abducted as his cellphone was snatched and was being followed. Shahzad,  somehow through sms or whatsApp, informed his relatives not to come over to meet him under any circumstances fearing they would be killed. He advised them to stay alert.

Shahzad’s younger brother Mohammad Nishat Ahmad received a threatning call from the abductors on August 5, 2018, creating terror among the family members. Shahzad’s family members lodged a complaint with SSP, Patna, in this connection around 9:30 pm the same day.
