Ara : Police arrested nine imposters red-handed realising `Rangdari’ (extortion amount) from drivers of overloaded trucks near Sakaddi Mor under Koelwar police station in Bhojpur district on December 25, 2020, late night, in the name of District Transport Officer (DTO). Police also recovered three luxury cars and Rs 41,520 cash from their possession.
Bhojpur SP Har Kishore Rai said that some imposters in guise of DTO personnel were realising rangdari from the drivers of trucks overloaded with sand near Sakaddi Mor under Koelwar police station in the district. Police, on getting information, conducted raids and arrested them red-handed.
The SP said that the arrested imposters were identified as Prince Kumar Sinha, Rohit Kumar Singh, Vidya of Ara Block Road in Bhojpur, Chiranjvi Kumar Singh of Sadar Kotwali police station, Gajipur in Uttar Pradesh, Nitesh Kumar, Nanda Kumar, Vivek Kumar Singh of Narayanpur under Koelwar police station, Prakash Ranjan of Shivpur under Gadhani police station in Bhojpur, and Vivek Kumar Ojha of Natwar in Rohtas district. A named FIR has been lodged by Koelwar police station against them. Police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest two other persons in this connection, the SP added.
