Patna: An attempt was made to kidnap a woman on Rajesh Path under SK Puri police station on December  30. Hearing the screams of the woman, a police patrolling team intercepted the four-wheeler on which the woman was travelling with one Abhishek Kumar and saved her. Police arrested Abhishek Kumar, who claimed himself to be a stonechip dealer, in this connection. Police are investigating the matter.

SK Puri police station SHO Arvind Kumar said that the incident was fallout of some money lending problem. He said that the woman raised an alarm as she got panicked after being assaulted by Abhishek. If police sources are to be believed, the woman had given Rs 9 lakh to Abhishek and she was asking him to return the money for the past few days.

Police further said that Abhishek called her on Rajesh Path to return her the money on December 30 and a scuffle broke out between them in the four-wheeler on which they were sitting and discussing. Unnerved over her screams, Abhishek tried to escape with her on the four-wheeler but was caught by a police patrolling team.
