Sitamarhi: Police have detained five youth and quizzing them in connection with rape and murder of a 13 year old girl of village Kharpatti under Runnisaidpur police station in Sitamarhi district on April 21, 2018. Police found the body in a maize field on the outskirts of village Kharpatti. The girl was missing since April 21.
Police sources said that unidentified miscreants might have strangulated the girl to death after outraging her modesty. Things would be clear after the post- mortem report comes, Police said. The Kharpatti villagers said that a group of village youth had allegedly outraged her modesty before killing her.
