Police crack Sampatchak Bazaar cash loot case, 1 held

Patna : Police on July 18, 2018, claimed to have cracked a case of cash loot from Sampatchak Bazaar under Gopalpur polic station in Patna district by arresting one of the key accused Anil Kumar of  village Chand Parsa in East Champaran district on July 17.

Addressing a presser, City SP (East) Rajendra Kumar Bheel on July 18 said that on July 13 one Bhattu Ram was on way to his home after drawing Rs 49,000 from Panjub National Bank at
Sampatchak Bazaar under Gopalpur police station. As Ram moved about 100 metres ahead of the Bank, motorcycle-borne youth snatched the cash and escaped towards Gaurichak, he said adding that an FIR was lodged with Gopalpur police station in this connection.
The City SP said that a special police team was constituted under Additional SP (Sadar) and the police team kept aclose watch on the activities of the criminals in the area. Some police personnel in plain clothes were also deployed close to the Bank. On July 17, police received information that some persons were loitering near the bank, the City SP said adding that police acted quickly and arrested one Anil Kumar, a resident of village Chand Parsa under Kesaria police station in East Champaran district.

The City SP said that three criminals managed to escape from there. He said that during interrogation, the arrested person admitted his involvement in cash loot on July 13. The arrested person said that he has kept the looted cash at his native village. Police recovered the cash from his house at Motihari.
