Buxar : Police on June 4, 2020, claimed to have cracked the Buxar gold loot case by arresting five criminals including the most wanted Dheeraj Kamkar. Buxar police also seized firearms from their possession and are conducting raids to arrest their other associates.

The arrested miscreants have been identified as Dheeraj Kamkar of Pandeypatti, Ritesh Kumar and  Vishal Srivastava of Ramdiha under Buxar Muffassil police station, Abhishek Kumar Pandey alias Bittu Pandey of Dhobighatawa, and Vishal Kumar.

Buxar SP Upendra Nath Verma said that he got information that a wanted criminal Dheeraj Kamkar had taken shelter at village Mahdah  in Buxar district after which he immediately formed a police team, The police team conducted raids at village Mahdah on June 3, 2020, late evening, and arrested Dheeraj Kamkar,  Ritesh Kumar, and Vishal Kumar with Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL). Police also arrested Vishal Srivastava of Mahdah village for giving shelter to Dheeraj Kamkar.

The SP said that during interrogation, Dheeraj Kamkar revealed the name of his aide Abhishek Kumar Pandey alias Bittu Pandey of Dhobighatawa. Police at one conducted raids at Dhobighatawa and arrested Abhishek Kumar Pandey alias Bittu Pandey along with a loaded pistol.

The SP further said that Dheeeraj Kamkar, during interrogation, confessed before police that Vishal Srivaastava of Ramdiha village was  behind the gold loot in Buxar.  Vishal Srivastava too admitted his involvement in the gold loot case.

The SP stated that Buxar police were conducting raids at different places for the last several months to arrest Dheeraj Kamkar and finally  succeeded in arresting him from village Mahdah. The SP added that Dheeraj Kamkar had been evading arrest in the murder of Kanhaiya Yadav and Manmohan of Pandeypatti village after coming out of jail on bail. He was also a named accused in a number of murder and loot cases.
