Police bust sex racket in Shastrinagar, four arrested

Patna: With the arrest of four persons including two females, Patna Police on January 7 claimed to have busted a sex racket going on in a flat in Jagat Ambika Apartment in Bramhsthani Lane at Sheikhpura under Shashtrinagar police  station. Police also arrested Dharmendra Kumar, the kingpin of the sex racket, who in the past too had been sent to  jail from Patrakarnagar and Boring canal Road areas for running sex racket there, said Patna SSP Manu Maharaaj.

Police said that the SSP had issued directives to SHOs to constitute special teams under their jurisdiction and check  atrocities against women in the society under Operation Vishwas. On January 6 night, SSP received inputs that sex racket is being run in a flat in Jagat Ambika Apartment under Shashtrinagar police station. He immediately directed SHO, Shashtrinagar ps, and woman police to verify the information. A police team started keeping an eye on the movement in the apartment and found that some men are regularly visiting the apartment and bikes were always parked there.

Police team came to know that these people are visiting flat number-C-21 of the Apartment. Police raided the said flat and found Dharmendra Kumar (Motihari), Amit Kumar (Bhojpur), Mohd. Shahabuddin (Patna) and Harendra Paswan (Saran) in objectionable position.  Two women were also arrested from the flat.

Police said that during investigation, the cops came to know that the kingpin used to bring girls other places including Kolkata, Nepal and Delhi-and pushed them int this trade. A woman kingpin Rubi Khatoon (name changed) and Dharmendra Kumar had hired this flat and the house-owner Suresh Sharma was given good rent for it which clearly indicated he was aware of the sex racket going on in his flat. Dharmendra and Rubi used to entice their customers by uploading the pics of the girls on WhatsAap and Facebook, said police adding they also brought liquor from other states and supplied it to customers on high prices. Police, however, could not seize any liquor bottle from the flat.

Police said that one of the arrested female is a resident of Kolkata while the other is native of Gopalganj. The arrested women told police that the kingpin used to charge Rs 1,500 from the customers and they were paid a just Rs 500. Stern action would be also taken against the flat-owner, police said. Police recovered 48 packets of condoms, stimulants, cigarette packets, five packets of Shilajeet, six cellphones, Rs 7,900 cash and seven ATM cards from the flat.
