sasaram : A flesh trade racket under the cover of Orchestra has come to light from village Dhangai under Bikramganj police station (PS) in Rohtas District after Patna police with the help of their Rohtas counterpart arrested five persons including a woman.
The arrested persons were identified as Rekha Devi, Shankar Nat, Gopal Nat, Vikas, and Sonu. A named FIR has been lodged by Bikramganj police station in this connection under POCSO, Human Trafficking, murder, kidnapping, and other sections of IPC. Police also recovered cash, condoms and medicine used for abortion from the place. The rackteers allegedly had links in Nepal and Mumbai. Police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest other persons involved in the racket. Later, police sent all the arrested persons to jail after interrogation.
SHO, Bikramgnaj police station, said that Rekha Devi under the cover of Orchestra group allegedly ran a brothel at Dhangai village and several teenage girls were forced into flesh trade. All the girls were kept in a room so that they could not escape. But somehow, a teenage girl escaped from the clutches of her tormentors and reached Patna with the help of an organisation where she was produced before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC). She narrated her story to CWC.
On her statement, the CWC wrote a letter to the SSP and ordered to lodge an FIR in this regard. After that a rescue team was formed that conducted raid at a house at Dhangai village and rescued nine girls confined in a room of the house though the younger sister of the girl was killed before the raid. The rescued girls belonged to Muzzaffarpur, Rohtas, and Raxaul and are kept at a shelter home.
