Saharsa : A joint team of Saharsa Police and STF headed by Saharsa SP Rakesh Kumar on August 7, 2020, conducted raids at several places in the district including Baluaha- Darbhanga Road, village Hathmandal under Banmaitahari police outpost, and areas under Saur Bazaar and Banama Blocks and busted a mini gun factory, seized a four-wheeler ,and arrested a an arms smuggler with firearms including two countrymade rifles, pistol, and live cartridges.
The arrested arms smuggler was going to Darbhanga to supply arms when police arrested him on Baluaha -Darbhanga Road after intercepting the four-wheeler. Police also conducted raid at the house of one Doman Sah at village Hathmandal under Banmaitahari police outpost and busted a mini gun factory and seized several semi-finished firearms. Police conducted raid at the house of a trader at village Bahuarma under Banama OP and seized several arms. SDPO Mridula Kumar and SI Dravesh Kumar were part of the police team.
