Police begin scientific investigation into Gopalganj sochool boy murder case

Gopalganj: A scientific investigation into the murder of Upendra Kumar Pandey, a student of Hazari Lal High School, started with experts from Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Muzaffarpur, reaching Kuchaikot in Gopalganj district on Friday evening. They  collected blood stains and soil from the spot. They also visited the spot where Pandey’s body was dumped by the assailants and collected samples from there.

The experts: Dr M Sayed Alam and Sunil Kumar, were also assisted by SDPO Manoj Kumar and Kuchaikot ps SHO Mahendra Kumar and other police officials of the district. The police team as well as the experts could not do much due to darkness and decided to conduct spot investigation on Saturday again.

Meanwhile, the local police are perplexed over the murder as no wound marks have been found on deceased’s body. Police said that only bone of the legs of the deceased was found fractured. The cops are now awaiting the autopsy report, said a police officer associated with the investigation. Kuchaikot ps SHO Mahendra Kumar said that police were investigating the case from different angles. He said that the call details of the deceased’s cellphone are also being probed to identify the culprits.

It may be mentioned here that Upendra Kumar Pandey (14) went to sleep at his house after fixing alarm in his father’s cellphone on  November 30 night so that he can rise early next day for studies. He went missing from his house the same night at around 1.15 am and his 0ody was dumped near a temple at village Belbanwa on December 1 morning.
