Police arrest 4 persons with 2 foreign made pistols in Saharsa, seize Safari

Saharsa : A police team headed by SDPO, Sadar, Saharsa, Prabhakar Tiwary, arrested four Safari car borne i persons with two foreign made pistols, 10 live rounds, 2 magazine, and four cellphones near Baluwaha Pul (bridge) under Mahishi police station on February 22, 2019, night. Police seized the Safari car.s

Police had received secret information that that some people carrying firearms were likely to pass through Baluwaha Pul. The police team started checking vehicles near Baluwaha Pul. During checking of vehicles, police stopped a Safari. As soon the car stopped, one person, who was later identified as Shambhu Singh of village Rahuaamni, got down and escaped. But, police arrested 4 other occupants of the car including its driver Bhushan Kumar. During search, 1 Italy made and 1 USA made pistol besides 10 live rounds, 2 magazine, and 4 mobile phones were seized from their possession.

The four persons arrested by police include Santosh Gupta of village Bariyahi under Bangaon polce station in Sahara district, a murder case accused, and Sandeep Kumar of village Beldaur in Khagaria district, according to SDPO Tiwary. Santosh Gupta and Sandeep Kumar were found drunk and police also lodged a case against them for boozing, the SDPO said.
