Patna : Police team arrested a security guard in connection with theft of Rs 69,98,462 cash from a locker of Frazer Road based Patna Central Mall on January 27/28 night. The arrested security guard has been identified as Vinod Sah. He was arrested from Goria Toli under Kotwali police station.
Briefing mediapersons, Patna SSP Garima Malik said that soon after the theft, a police team comprising City SP (Central) D Amrkesh, DSP (Law and Order) Rakesh Kumar, and SHO, Kotwali police station, Patna, Ramashankar Singh, was
constituted to crack the case. She said that when the police team went through CCTV footages, they found a suspect with his face covered.
The SSP said that during quizzing of employees and managers of Patna Central Mall, the cops came to know that one of the security guards Vinod Sah was not coming on duty for past several days. She said that the suspect seen in CCTV footages matched the physical appearance of the security guard. She said that based on surveillance of cellphone, a police team
arrested Vinod Sah from Goria Toli, Patna.

The SSP said that during interrogation Sah told police that he had hidden the cash at his native village Aurai in Muzaffarpur district. Later, a police team reached Aurai and recovered Rs 68.78 lakh cash, which was kept in a tin can buried underground, she said, adding that police are also looking out for others involved in hatching conspiracy.
