Sasaram : Rohtas police on November 1, 2021, arrested a man in connection with a murder in the district 10 days ago. The arrested miscreant was identified as Ramashankar Kumar.
Rohtas SP Ashish Ranjan said that a 70 year old person was killed under Sasaram Town police station (PS) on October 20, 2021, while sleeping. The SP said that he took serious note of the incident and formed a police team to inquire into the matter and arrest the killer. During investigation, it came to light that Ramashankar Kumar, nephew of the deceased, had a land dispute with his uncle and so he allegedly hired two persons persons on a Rs 90,000 contract and got his uncle killed merely for a piece of land, the SP added.
Police arrested Ramashankar Kumar, who confessed before police during interrogation,that he had old enmity with his uncle and so hired two persons on a contract of Rs 90,000 and got his uncle killed merely to grab the land.
