Ara : Bhojpur police arrested five miscreants for looting a person near village Badaki Sanadiya on Ara-Salempur min road under Ara Muffasil police station (PS) in Bhojpur District on September 15, 2021, early morning.

Police also recovered Rs 55,000 cash, a gold chain, two earrings, three nose rings, nine pearls made of gold, one pair of anklet, seven mobile phones, a car, and two motorcycles.

The arrested miscreants were identified as Shivshankar alias Kuber of Ujiar Tola under Ara Town PS, Gorakh Kumar of Ujiar Tola (Bind Toli), Pawan Kumar and Rakesh Kumar of the same area, and Basant Kumar of Agarsanda village under Dhobaha police outpost in Bhojpur District. Two miscreants are still absconding.

Bhojpur SP Vijay Tiwari while talking to the mediaperons on September 20, 2021, evening, said that Mohit Prasad along with his family members was returning from Mumbai on September 15, 2021, at about 5am and he hired an autorickshaw to go to his native village Agarsanda village under Dhobaha police outpost. Seven miscreants followed him on motorcycle and a car from Ara railway station and as the autorickshaw reached near Badaki Sanadiya Bridge on Ara-Salempur main road under Ara Muffasil PS, the miscreants looted Rs 98,000 cash, gold chain, two mobile phones, important papers, and cloths from Mohit Prasad and escaped to Varanasi, UP, the SP added.

Takingserious note of the incident, the SP formed a nine member police team. The police team following scientific research arrested five of the 7 miscreants. Police are conducting raids to arrest two other miscreants.

The SP further said that Basant Kumar of Agarsanda village and six others were involved in the loot case. Police arrested Basant Kumar who revealed names of his aides during interrogation and police arrested four of them. The SP  said  that Mohit Prasad and his cousin Basant Kumar worked in a factory in Mumbai earlier and two others had also worked in Mumbai but the factory management had dismissed Basand Kumar from job. Basant Kumar had returned home some days ago. He had all information about return of Mohit Prasad from Mumbai and he hatched plan with his aides to loot Mohit Prasad. The arrested miscreants confessed their involvement in the loot, the SP said.
