Patna : Police arrested nine criminals from Patna City locality on June 1, 2020. SSP, Patna, Upendra Sharma said that he had been receiving inputs that some notorious criminals were planning to commit major crime in Patna City area. Taking serious note of the inputs, the SSP constituted a special team headed by City SP, East, to nab the criminals.
The police team got information that some criminals had assembled at Mathani Tal area under City Chowk police station. The team immediately reached the spot and arrested Akash alias Patlu, Vikas alias Raja, Chandan Kumar, Kundan Kumar and
Satya alias Sonu Kumar. Police recovered two countrymade pistols, 12 live cartridges, two magazines besides other objectionable materials from their possession.
During interrogation, the arrested criminals revealed that they were planning to loot a big trader in Maroofganj Mandi. They further
revealed that some of their associates were planning to rob a trader at Bazar Samiti under Malsalami police station. The police team immediately swung into action and arrested four criminals identified as Rohit Kumar alias Muchchu, Suraj Kumar, Ratan
Kumar, and Avinash alias Shahrukh. Police receovered two countrymade pistols, four live cartridges, and a stolen bike from possession of
arrested criminals.
The SSP said that these gangsters were involved in firing, explosion of bombs, and murder at Baba Jwellers under City Chowk police station on March 13, 2020, for extortion. Besides this, the arrested criminals were also involved in Kundan Bharti murder case
(Malsalami ps), Takla firing incident (Malsalami ps), and firing and extortion at Laxmi Jewelers.
