Ara : Police conducted raids at different places in Bhojpur district and arrested 8 liquor smugglers along with 2,950 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) during last 24 hours. Police sent all of them to jail after lodging named FIRs against them under the Prohibition & Excise Act.
Police, on a tip off, conducted raids at a community hall at village Hematpur under Dhobaha police outpost in Bhojpur district around midnight on September 1, 2019, and seized 2,606 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) of different brands though the liquor smuggler escaped from the spot. A named FIR was lodged with Dhobaha police outpost against a liquor smuggler Bijay Singh alias Karia under Prohibition & Excise Act. Police are conducting raids at different places to arrest him.
Police also raide at Chainpur Chhapara village under Sinha police outpost and arrested 4 liquor smugglers : Bheem Kumar, Nikhil Kumar, Prince Kumar, and Deepak Kumar Manjhi along with 240 bottles of IMFL when they were smuggling the liquor on a boat on September 1, 2019, late evening.
Police also arrested three liquor smugglers along with 38 bottles of IMFL from Udwantnagar village under the same police station in Bhojpur district on September 2, 2019. Police also arrested a liquor smuggler Kundan Kumar from Jawahar Tola under Nawada police station, Ara, in the wee hour on September 2, 2019, and seized 30 bottles of IMFL from his possession.
