Police arrest 7 liquor smugglers in Buxar, seize 560 bottles of IMFL

Buxar : Government Railway Police (GRP), Buxar, seized 228 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor IMFL and also arrested four liquor smugglers from 122536 Dn Chandigarh Express train on July 4, 2019.

SHO, GRP, Buxar, Awadhesh Kumar Singh said that he got information that a consignment of IMFLwas being smuggled from Chandigarh on the 122536 Chandigarh Express train. As the train came on platform No 1 at Buxar under Danapur Division of the East Central Railway, Hajipur, he along with police force conducted raids in the train and seized 228 bottles of IMFL and also arrested four liquor smugglers: Neeraj Kumar Singh, Abhishek Kumar, Rohit Kumar Singh, and Vikrant Kumar Singh. He said that police lodged a named FIR against them under the Prohibition & Excise Act and later sent them to jail after interrogation.

In another incident, Buxar police seized 332 bottles of IMFL and arrested three liquor smugglers along with firearms from village Ahrauli under Industrial Police station in Buxar district on July 3, 2019, night.

Buxar DSP Satish Kumar said that he got information that IMFL was dumped at a house at village Ahrauli under Industrial police station in Buxar district. A police team was immediately sent there. Police conducted raid at the house of former Mukhia, Ahrauli panchayat, and seized 332 bottles of IMFL. The DSP said that police also arrested three persons: Gopi Upadhyay, son of the former Mukhia Ram Lal Yadav, Dinesh Yadav, and Timil Gond from the spot. The DSP  said that a named FIR was lodged by Industrial police station against them under the Prohibition & Excise Act and they were sent to jail after interrogation
