Patna : Police on October 13, 2018, arrested six persons for exploding bombs at the house and shop of a big trader of Patna City locality Rambabu recently. The arrests were made from Patna City and Aurangabad. Police recovered five live bombs, a pistol, 11 cartridges and two bikes from the possession of the arrested persons.
The arrested criminals have been identified as Santosh alias Vijendra, Vinay Paswan alias Badal, Gulshan Kumar, Jugnu Kumar alias JD, Guddu Rajvanshi alias Sher Singh, and Sikandar Paswan. All of them have link with jailed notorious gangsters Sonu and Sikandar gang.
Patna SSP Manu Maharaaj said that jailed gangsters had demanded Rs 30 lakh as extortion (rangdari) from Rambabu last week. When the trader refused to oblige, some criminals lobbed bombs at his house and shop within an hour creating terror in the locality, he said.
After lodging of an FIR in this connection, police team started searching for the criminals and arrested three from Malsalami area in Patna City and two from Aurangabad district. Police said that during interrogation, the arrested criminals revealed that they had lobbed bombs at the instance of jailed gangsters. They also revealed that they had also demanded extortion from an LIC agent. The SSP said that recommendations would be made to impose CCA against these criminals.
