Patna : A Patna Police team on September 19, 218, arrested three criminals in connection with the murder of a Post Office agent Rakesh Kumar on August 31, 2018, night. Police also recovered Rakesh’s looted purse, cash and other materials from the possession of the arrested criminals. A pistol and some live rounds were also seized from the possession of the arrested criminals. Rakesh was murdered on August 31 night in Paliganj locality in Patna district when he was on way to his residence at Palidih locality.

The arrested criminals have been identified as Ranjit Kumar, a resident of village Mishripur village under Makhdumpur PS in Jehanabad district, Sumar Kumar, a resident of Khajurbanna village under Shakurabad PS in Jehenabad, and Vijay Kumar, a resident of village Tekari under Kinjar PS in Arwal.
Police said that they had recovered criminals’ bike after the incident. During investigation of the case, police came to know that the bike belonged to one Munna Prasad, a resident of City Chowk locality. When the cops interrogated Munna, he said that his bike was stolen from Jehenabad. After that, Patna Police targeted some criminals of Jehanabad and arrested one Ranjit and during interrogation. Ranjit spilled the beans.
Acting on the revelations made by arrested Ranjit, police arrested Suman and Vijay and recovered a pistol used in the crime. However, one of their associates managed to escape. Patna SSP Mannu Maharaj said that the case would be put on speedy trial.
