Ara : Police, on a tip off, conducted raids at Chandi village under the same police station on August 14, 2020, and arrested three liquor and arms smugglers and seized firearms and Rs 6 lakh cash.
Police seized two single barrel guns, three countrymade pistols, one 7.65 caliber pistol, 34 live cartridges, 18 live .315 calibre cartridges, one 12 calibre blank cartridge, one .315 calibre blank cartridge, one 7.65 calibre blank cartridge, 100 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), three mobile phone, three motorcycles, a sword, one Vindolia, and Rs. 6 lakh cash.
The arrested liquor and arms smugglers were identified as Vijay Pandey, son of late Chandradeo Pandey of Khangao; Gopal Pandey, son of Vijay Pandey of Khangao; and Amit Sah alias Devbrat Sah, son of Mahendra Sah of Chandi village under the same police station. Police are interrogating the miscreants. A named FIR has been lodged with Chandi police station against them in this connection.
Bhojpur SP Sushil Kumar said that he got information that Vijay Pandey had illegal firearms and he used these arms to establish his supremacy in the area. The SP immediately formed a police team under Ara SDPO Ajay Kumar to arrest the miscreant and seize illegal firearms.
The police team conducted raid at the house of Vijay Pandey at Khangao village under Chandi police station and seized two countrymade pistols, two single barrel guns, one 7.65 calibre pistol, 100 bottles of IMFL from his room. Police also seized one loaded .315 calibre countrymade pistol, five live cartridges and other articles from the room of Gopal Pandey, son of Vijay Pandey.
Police arrested Vijay Pandey and his son Gopal Pandey. During interrogation, Vijay Pandey revealed that he had brought these articles from Amit Sah alias Devbrat Sah and he had taken Rs 42,000 from them. On his revelation, police conducted raids at the house of Amit Sah and seized Rs 6 lakh from his possession.
