Patna: Arrest of two notorious criminals by Police prevented two major incidents including loot at the residence of a doctor couple in the state capital. They were arrested near Road Overbridge (ROB) close to Shitala Mata Mandir under Agamkuan police station, Patna, and have ben identified as Mukesh Kumar and Jitu, both residents of Gandhi Nagar locality.

Police also seized 39 sachets of Ganja from their possession. Both of them have links with notorious Sonu and Sikandar gang of Patna City and they were involved in hurling bomb on prisoners’ van few days back.
Patna SSP Manu Maharaaj said that he had received inputs that both the gangsters were planning to carry out loot in the house of a doctor couple near Chandrashekhar Park. He directed SHO, Agamkuan PS, Ashok Pandey to arrest the gangsters. He said that a police team later carried out raids and arrested the gangsters.
During interrogation, the arrested gangsters revealed that they were planning to rob doctor couple and a trader of Gur ki Mandi of Rs 25 lakh at the instance of Sonu and Sikandar, who are lodged in Beur Jail. Police said that they had made attempts to liberate Sonu and Sikandar by throwing bomb on prisoners’ van. On that day, Sonu and Sikandar were brought to Patna City Court for production. When the prisoners’ van reached New By Pass road on way back to Beur Jail, both the criminals had thrown bombs at the vehicle.
Police said that Jitu was released from jail a month back and faces dozen of cases including loot, theft and Arms Act,
lodged with several police stations including Kadamkuan, Beur, Agamkuan and Buddha Colony police stations.
