Ara : Police, on a tip off, conducted raid at a hotel in Shahpur in Bhojpur District in South Bihar and arrested two members of an international gang of arms smuggler. Police also seized a telescopic gun, one regular rifle, two double barrel guns, around 200 live cartridges, two blank cartridges, two magazines, one holsters, and three mobile phone from their possession.

The arrested arms smugglers were identified as Rishabh Kumar of Kirani Chowk under Shahpur police station and Nikhilesh Singh alias Nikki Singh of Khajuria village under Ara Muffassil police station. Nikki Singh lives at Chhoti Mathia at Shahpur.

Bhojpur SP Har Kishore Rai talking to mediapersons on on December 31, 2020, late evening, said that he got information that some armed smugglers had come to a hotel at Shahpur for dealing in arms after which he immeditaely constituted a police team under SDPO Shaym Kishore Ranjan.

The police team conducted raids at the hotel. Seeing police, one arms smuggler tried to escape but police chased and arrested him. Police recovered 15 live cartridges of .32 calibre and a mobile phone from his possession. He was identified as Rishabh Singh.

The SP further said that on his revelation, police conducted raid at Chhoti Mathia at Shahpur and arrested Nikhilesh Singh alias Nikki Singh from his residence and recovered a gun of 12 calibre, .a telescopic gun, one double barrel gun, 99 live cartridges of 12 calibre, 87 live cartridges of 22 calibre, two blank cartridges, two magazines of pistol, one rod, one holster, and two mobile phones from his possession. The SP further said that police are interrogating them and also conducting raids to arrest other members of the gang.
