Ara : Bhojpur police, on a tip off, arrested 18 persons including two Ward Councillors and husbands of four Ward Councilors from a house in Bhaluhipur locality under Ara town police station in Bhojpur District in South Bihar on May 26, 2021, late evening. Police also seized one rifle, 133 live cartridges, four bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), and Rs 7.5 lakh cash from the spot.
The arrested persons were identified as Arun Sinha’s sons and Ward Councillor, Ward No 31 & house owner Himanshu Singh, and his brother Kunal Sinha, Ward No. 4 Ward Councillor, Akhilesh Prasad, Baiju Prasad, Sanjay Gupta, Shailendra Kumar Sharma, and Om Prakash, former Ward Councillor Anil Kumar, Shadab Ahmad of Sultanganj Colony, Patna, Afroz Alam, Md Damish, Ratan Pandey of Bhaluhipur, Suraj Kumar Srivastava of Sheetal Tola, Raj Kumar Yadav, Prabhu Dayal Yadav, Dilip Rajak of Balbatara, Ajay Yadav of MP Bagh. Police also videographed all the actions.
Bhojpur SP Rakesh Kumar Dubey said that he got information that a rave party was going on at the house of Himanshu Sinha, Ward Councilor, in Bhaluhipur locality under Ara town police station. He at once sent a police team that conducted raid at the house and arrested 18 persons including two Ward Councillors, husbands of 4 Ward Councillors, Kunal Singh brother of Himanshu Sinha, and 11 others. Police also seized one regular rifle, 73 live cartridges of rifle, 60 live cartridges of 7.62 mm caliber, 15 mobile phones, Rs 7.5 lakh in cash, five bottles of IMFL, the SP added He said that police are quizzing Himanshu Sinha about the seized arms and ammunitions and added that a letter has been written to the Income Tax department for inquiry into the seized cash.
