Sitamarhi : Police on December 9, 2021, arrested 12 criminals including 8 from Nepal from an orchard near village Nawahi under Bhitta police outpost (OP) in Sitamarhi District in North Bihar when they were planning to commit a major crime in the area.

The Bhittha OP police team nabbed eight Nepalese and four Sitamarhi District based suspected dacoits from an orchard near Nawahi village. Giving this information, Sitamarhi SP Har Kishore Rai said that they were planning a big criminal activity. A few of their accomplices, however, fled away to Nepal as the border is close to Nawahi. Police seized Rs  2.5 lakh Indian cash, three countrymade pistols, nine live cartridges, 5 kg Charas, an axe, a few iron rods, and a stopwatch from the possession of the arrested criminals. Majority   of the arrested dacoits from Nepal belong to Sarlahi ( Malangwa) District, the SP added.
It may be mentioned here that more than a dozen incident of dacoity have been reported in the border areas in Sitamaarhi District in last three months. The arrest of 12 criminals may lead to some vital clues., said police sources
