Police 3,714 bottles of IMFL in Rohtas

Sasaram : Rohtas police on January 13, 2019, night, seized 2,476 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) packed in 50 cartons from a Pick-up van near Toll gate at Sasaram though the driver escaped from the scene leaving the vehicle behind. Police lodged a named FIR with Shivsagar police station against the owner of the Pick-up Pawan Kumar Verma.

SHO, Shivsagar police station, said that Pawan Kumar Verma had taken loan from Chola Mandalam Finance through an agent Guddu Singh for purchasing of a Pick-up but the owner failed to pay installments and the Chola Mandalam Finance administration caught Guddu Singh and asked him to pay the installments on behalf of Pawan Kumar Verma. Guddu Kumar informed police about his plight and he with the help of police started checking vehicle at the Toll gate at Sasaram. As the tomato laden Pick-up van tried to cross the Toll gate, Guddu Singh caught it. Seeing police, the driver escaped from the scene. When checked the van, 2,476 bottles of IMFL packed in 50 cartons were found inside it.

In another development, police seized 1,238 bottles of IMFL packed in 25 cartons from a car near village Kund on Dinara-Barav road under Dinara police station in Rohtas district on January 13, 2019, night though the liquor smugglers escaped from the scene.
