Patna : The Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) is procuring different machines including Super Sucker and Self Propelled/Vacuum Sweeping machines after approval from the Empowered Standing Committee.

Eight machines are being procured for better execution of sanitation drive across 75 wards under  PMC. A government website namely Gem Portal will be inviting online bids for the machines. Altogether 375 Twin Bin Garbage Tippers, 75 Twin Bin Dumper Placers, 300 Dumper Placer Bins, 405 Handcarts, 10 Self Propelled Vacuum Sweeping machines, 2,000 Twin Bin Mounted Litter bins of 120 litre each, 2 Super Sucker machine and 750 RC bins are being procured at an estimated cost of over Rs 83.26 crore.

The consignment of some of these items shall arrive in 15-20 days while some may take a month or two, said Deputy Commissioner, PMC, Vishal Anand. The PMC had no sweeping machine earlier. The sweeping machine being procured will be of three size: small, medium and large. As of now, the PMC has 155 Single Bin Auto Garbage tippers. The objective behind procuring thee machines is to revamp the door to door garbage collection and ensuring smart road cleanliness.
