New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 13, 2018, saluted the brave CRPF personnel who were martyred in the attack in Sukma, Chhattisgarh.

“India salutes the brave CRPF personnel who were martyred in the attack in Sukma, Chhattisgarh. My thoughts are with the families and friends of the brave martyrs. The nation stands shoulder to shoulder with them in this hour of grief ”, the Prime Minister said, according to a PIB release.

Nine CRPF personnel were killed at 12.30 pm on March 13, 2018, as Maoists blasted their mine protected vehicle using over 50 kg of explosives in Sukma, Chhattisgarh’s Sukma.The incident took place along the 5-km underconstruction Kistaram-Palodi road when the troops of the 212th battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were out for an operation.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh described the incident as deeply distressing and asked CRPF Director General R R Bhatnagar to rush to Chhattisgarh.
