New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 21, 2020, expressed grief over the loss of lives due to fire at the Srisailam Hydroelectric plant.
The Prime Minister, according to a PIB release, said, “Fire at the Srisailam hydroelectric plant is deeply unfortunate. My thoughts are with the bereaved families. I hope those injured recover at the earliest.”

It may be mentioned here that nine persons including five engineers were killed in Srisailam Hydroelectric plant fire in Kurnool District in Telengana that broke out on August 20, 2020, late night. Telengana Chief Minister has ordered an inquiry into the incident. There were 30 persons inside the plant when the fire broke out.
