New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 8, 2018, congratulated the Indian women’s Table Tennis (TT) team on winning the Gold Medal at the Commonwealth Games. “A well deserved and historic Gold for the Indian women’s Table Tennis team! Congratulations to the team. Delighted at this accomplishment,” the Prime Minister said, according to a PIB release.
India has won 7 gold, two silver, and three bronze medals in the first four days of Gold Coast Commonwealth Games 2018 in Australia and are fourth in the medal table. Five of the seven gold medals have been won by women. Host Australia have won 31 gold medals followed by England with 19 golds.
Canada have also won seven golds as India but they have won 15 silver and 12 bronze medals. Pakistan have so far won only one bronze medal. Bangladesh has won one silver medal.
