New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Dutee Chand on winning Gold in Women’s 100m Sprint. “Exceptional achievement of an exceptional athlete! Congratulations Dutee Chand for winning a hard earned and well deserved Gold in the Women’s 100 m finals. You make India proud,” the Prime Minister said in a tweet, according to a PIB release.

Dutee Chand, 23, became became the first Indian woman track and field athlete to win a gold medal in the World Universiade at Naples in Italy after she won the 100m dash event. She clocked 11.32 seconds to win the gold as she led the race from start to finish after July 9, 2019, midnight.
