New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 23, 2021, morning, condoled deaths due to fire in COVID-19 hospital at Virar, Maharashtra. He wished early recovery for the injured. The Prime Minister approved an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each from PMNRF for the next of kin of those who have lost their lives due to the hospital fire at Virar. Rs. 50,000 would be given to those seriously injured.

It may be mentioned here that 13 Covid-19 patients died at a private hospital fire at Virar in the wee hours on April 23, 2021.. The patients were in ICU. Virar is around 70 km away from Mumbai.
