New Delhi  : Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ held a meeting with the Minister of Higher Education, Uttarakhand, Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, and Member of Parliament, Pauri- Garhwal, Tirath Singh Rawat regarding the permanent campus of National Institute of Technology (N.I.T), Uttarakhand, here on July 22, 2019. After the meeting, Pokhriyal informed that the permanent campus of National Institute of Technology, Uttarakhand, will be established at village Sumari in Srinagar, Uttarakhand. The Minister also informed that the foundation stone of the permanent campus will be laid in the first week of September, 2019.

The Minister also informed that out 309 acres of land, 203 acres has been identified for building the permanent campus. He further informed that the upcoming session of the NIT, Uttarakhand, will be started on the temporary campus itself and a high-level committee will be constituted to transfer students from NIT, Jaipur campus. He said that for the next session, the process of admission will start from the permanent campus NIT, Uttarakhand.

The Minister reiterated that the infrastructure development for the permanent campus will happen in a mission mode. The Minister also hoped that the permanent campus of NIT, Uttarakhand, will be a major support to the students studying in temporary campus, according to a PIB release.
