Bettiah : CM Nitish Kumar on November 8, 2019, said his government is working day and night for the welfare of common people and all-round development of Bihar. “We are trying our best to solve the basic problems facing the rural population on priority basis to make the villages self- dependant,” Nitish said while addressing a public meeting on the ground high school at village Rampurawa under Mainatand Block in West Champaran District in North Bihar.
Nitish said he had launched his all Padyatra from West Champaran in the past and will launch the state government`s
‘Jal Jin Hariyali’ campaign again from this district. It is a major step towards fighting natural calamities and disaster, he said and added that Bihar has been facing the impact of climate change in the form of drought, flood, heavy rain, and pollution and the state is suffering heavy loss. He also urged the people to give him mandate again to form his next government. The Chief Minister launched 51 new schemes in different sectors worth Rs 300 crore for all round development of West Champaran District located near Indo-Nepal border at the meeting. Referring to the recent heavy rainfall in Bihar including
Patna, Nitish aid no one could fight with this disaster although his government fought with the situation to provide relief to the people with its entire resources. Punjab also face heavy rainfall and waterlogging, he said.
The CM said, ” The people’s expectations from the government have increased as it is delivering good (Pahale kam nahi
hota tha to Mansikata bhi wahi thi –ab kam ho raha hai to ummiden bhi badh gayi hai).”
Political observers, however, said that Nitish had replied to Bihar BJP Chief Dr Sanjay Jaiswal, MP, who had
demanded a probe through a letter to CM into the works of Rural Works Department in West Champaran district.
