Patna: Taking stringent steps to check Corona infection, Bihar Government has asked the people to inform the local police station prior to
marriage or any banquet party, if any, in their families. It would be also mandatory for them  to provide as list of 50 people invited to attend the ceremony to police.
A decision to this effect was taken at the meeting of Crisis Management Group, headed by the Chief Secretary, on COVID-19. This information has been passed to those managing marriage halls, banquet halls, community halls, and marriage complexes. Action would be taken against violators under Disaster Management Act.
DGP Gupteshwar Pandey said that the state government has taken this decision for public safety. He said that the people organising such
functions would have to sign bond at police station concerned about involvement of only 50 people sat the ceremony. All those participating at such functions would have to wear masks and maintain rules of social distancing, the DGP said.
It is to be noted here that over 350 people had recently attended a marriage ceremony at Paliganj in Patna District sand over 85 of them  were infected after coming in contact with the groom. An FIR was later lodged against groom’s father with local police station on Patna DM Kumar PRavi’s instruction.
