Pella, Schwartzman, Albot reach SFs of ATP Los Cabos Open

Patna : World No 24 Guido Pella, Argentina, World No 27 Diego Schwartzman, Argentina, and World No 41 Radu Albot, Moldova, advanced to the semi-finals of Los Cabos Open, Los Cabos, Baja California, Mexico, on August 2, 2019.

Pella beat World No 112 Kwon Soon-Woo, South Korea, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 coming from behind in the quarter-finals on August 2. Pella won 6 break points to 3 by the South Korean. He won 5 games in a row in the match to 4 by Kwon Soon-Woo. Pella fired 5 Aces in the match to 1 by the South Korean.

Schwartzman beat World No 45 Mikhail Kukushkin, 31, Kazakhstan, 6-1, 6-2 to reach the SFs. Schwartzman won 5 break points besides winning 5 games in a row in the match. Schwartzman will face compatriot Pella in the semi-finals on August 3, 2019.

Albot defeated World No 191 Thanasi Kokkinakis, 23, Australia,  6-3, 6-3 in the quarter-finals. Albot won 4 break points to 1 by the Australian. He also won 4 games in a row in the match to 2 by Kokkinakis. He will face World No 28 Taylor Fritz, USA, in the SFs. Fritz stunned defending champion and top seed Fabio Fognini, the World No 9, in the QFs.
