Patna : Punjab Kings (PBKS) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 5 runs in a low scoring thriller at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah, UAE, in the 37th match of IPL on September 25, 2021, late night, overcoming the tremendous assault launched by all-rounder Jason Holder who scored an unbeaten 47 runs in 29 balls hitting 5 sixes including 3 off Australian fast medium bowler Nathan Elis and one each off Mohd Shami and spinner Ravi Bishnoi. SRH had won the toss and opted to bowl. PBKS have now 8 points from 10 games while SRH have 2 points from 8 games. Holder was named Player Of The Match.

Chasing a target of 125 runs, SRH could score only 120/7 in 20 overs. SRH kept losing wickets at regular interval although opener Wriddhiman Saha scored 31 runs and was the 6th batsman to return to the dugout. Opener David Warner fell to Mohd Shami for 2 runs making it 2/1. Captain Kane Williamson also fell to Shami for 1 run and it was 10/2.

Manish Pandey fell to Ravi Bishnoi for 13 runs making it 32/3. Kedar Jadhav also perished soon falling to Bishnoi for 12 runs making it 56/4. Abdul Samad also to Bishnoi for 1 and it was 60/5. Saha was run out for 31 runs and it was 92/6. Spinner Rashid Khan fell to fast medium bowler Arshdeep Singh for 1 run making it 105/7. For PBKS, Bishnoi took 3/24 in 4 overs while Mohd Shami took 2/14 in 4 overs.
