Patna : Punjab Kings (PBKS) defeated Roya Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 34 runs in the 26th match of IPL 2021 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on April 30, 2021, late night, as spinner Harpreet Brar, 25, took 3/19 in 4 overs while leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi took 2/17 in 4 overs. Brar turned the match on its head by clean bowling RCB captain Virat Kohli (opener) and all-rounder Glenn Maxwell on successive balls in 11th over, his 3rd over,  and also took the wicket of star batsman A B de Villers in 13th over.

Brar was  named Player Of The Match. RCB had won the toss and opted to bowl. It was RCB’s 2nd defeat in 7 matches. For PBKS, it was their 3rd win in 7 games.

Set a target of 180 runs, RCB could score only 145/8 in 20 overs with Kohli scoring 35 in 34 balls with 3 fours and 1 six and Rajat Patidar scoring 31 in 30 balls with 2 fours and 1 six.2. Maxwell was bowled by Brar for zero. A B de Villers also fell to Brar for zero. Fast medium bowler Harshal Patel scored 31 runs in 13 balls hitting 3 fours and 2 sixes. Fast bowler Kyle Jamieson remained unbeaten on 16 in 11 balls hitting a six and a four. Incidentally, RCB scored 43 runs in last 3 overs.

Batting first, PBKS scored 179/5 in 20 overs with captain Lokesh Rahul (opener) scoring an unbeaten 91 in 57 balls hitting 7 fours and 5 sixes. Chris Gayle scored 46 in 24 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes. Harpreet Brar remained unbeaten on 25 in 17 balls hitting 1 four and 2 sixes. Klye Jamieson took 2/32 in 3 overs.
