Patna : Police, in a late night swoop on July 22, 2018, arrested 4 bookies running an online betting racket on Tamil Nadu Premier League, a T20 tournament, from Khiladi Heritage Building, A – Block, Flat No. 402, in Vishveshwaraiya Nagar under Rupaspur police station, Patna.
All the 4 arrested are residents of Danapur, Patna district, and identified as Akash Kumar, Ajay Kumar, Sagar Kumar, and Vikas Kumar. SHO, Rupaspur police station, Deepak Kumar, said that the betting racket was running in the flat for quite some time and added that the flat is owned by Suman, a Builder. The four arrested persons had taken the flat on rent.
Police seized Rs 1 lakh cash, 4 ATM cards, 23 Mobile phones, 8 Calculators, 1 LED TV and a transaction register during the raid. The register reveals several names. Police carried out raid following directive from SSP, Patna.
