Patna : Patna High Court on August 30, 2017, dismissed an appeal by former Siwan RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin challenging the life imprisonment awarded to him by a Siwan court in an acid attack case in which two brothers were killed at Siwan on August 16, 2004. The two brothers were drenched in acid and shot dead at Siwan allegedly on the directions of controversial former MP Shahabuddin over a property dispute. The appeal was dismissed by a division bench comprising justices K K Mandal and Sanjay Kumar.

Satish and Girish were drenched in acid and shot dead in that incident. The third brother Rajiv was killed when he was returning home on a motorcycle. Their father Chandrakeshwar Prasad alias Chanda Babu had approached the court for action against Shahabuddin. A Siwan district court had sentenced Shahabuddin and three others to life imprisonment in 2015 in the case. Shahabuddin was shifted to Tihar Jail in Delhi in February 2017.
