Patna: District Magistrate (DM), Patna, Kumar Ravi on July 18, 2020, directed all private hospitals to remain open during COVID-19 pandemic and inform the Civil Surgeon office accordingly. He issued this directive while participating at a meeting with representatives of private hospitals at auditorium of Hindi Bhawan.
DM Kumar Ravi said that the state government has made three types of arrangements for COVID-19 related patients. First is home isolation and their monitoring, second is COVID Care centres at district and sub-divisional level for mild symptomatic patients, and third is dedicated COVID-19 set up at NMCH, PMCH and AIIMS.
The DM asked private hospitals to come forward and start treatment of COVID-19 patients by setting up flu corner. It would be mandatory to check suspected cases such as fever, cold breathing problems at Flu Corner and keep complete record of infected patients, he pointed out.
Screening and monitoring of severe acute respiratory illnesses is to be done satprivate hospitals and information regarding this should be
made available to civil surgeon office. It has been directed to keep 20 to 25% of total beds at private hospitals for Corona patients as reserved isolation wards and not refuse treatment to any patient. The DM said that whichever hospital would be right, Indian kit would be provided to them and after that positive patients can be kept at isolation ward and negative patient at general ward.
Private hospitals have been instructed to apply under COVID-19 to Civil Surgeon office and follow protocol related to COVID-19. The DM
said that private hospitals willing to treat COVID-19 patients can apply to Civil Surgeon office and treat patients with service and
dedication.
