Patna : Pardeep Singh, 23, India, won silver medal in the men’s 105 kg weightlifting category at Gold Coast Commonwealth Games (CWG) on April 9, 2018, the final day of weightlifting events.

Pardeep, who hails from village Manki, Jalandhar, Punjab, lifted a total of 352 kg- 152 kg in snatch and 200kg in clean & jerk – to clinch the silver medal in a close contest with Sanele Mao, Samoa, who won gold. India have bagged 5 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals in weightlifting events so far. Pardeep is an Indian Railways employees.
