Patna: Nalanda police has registered an FIR following recovery of a Pakistani flag, which was hoisted on a house at district headquarters Biharsharif for the last two days. The house owner has claimed it was a religious flag. Police swung into action when some neighbours protested hoisting of “Pakistani” flag and hoisted Tricolour on their housetops. Apprehending tension, a team of officials rushed to the house,  brought down the controversial flag and seized it .
One person has been detained for interrogation. Shabana Anwar, daughter of the house owner  Anwarul Haq, claimed she was hoisting the “religious flag”every year during Muharram to appease Allah for a child. But, Nalanda SP Kumar Ashish claimed it was a pakistani flag.
Within a week of pro-Pakistani slogans raised on the streets of Patna, a Pakistan flag was found atop a house in Biharsharif town , district headquarters of CM Nitish Kumar’s home district Nalanda on Thursday morning. A team of SDM and Deputy SP raided the house of Md Anwarul Haq  near Jama Masjid in Kahardi locality  in ward 36, brought down the flag and seized it.

SDM of Biharsharif Sudhir Kumar Sinha and Deputy SP Saifur Rehman told mediapersons an FIR has been registered and appropriate action would be taken against the guilty.

Dr Ajay Alok, national spokesman of JD(U),  said Nalanda SP has been asked by the DG of police to act swiftly and arrest he culprit who would be sent to jail and not Pakistan. He warned the pro-Burhan Wani supporters would face strong action and would land in jail only.

National secretary of BJP’s minorities Morcha Abdul Rehman said so-called secular leaders of Bihar were encouraging anti-national elements which went to the extent of raising pro-Pakistan slogans and hoisting Pak flags.

Leader of opposition in Bihar assembly Prem Kumar said RJD president  Lalu Prasad and JD(U) president Nitish Kumar were responsible for the anti-national activites in the state as they remained soft  on these activities.

Satyanand Sharma,vice-president of LJP, demanded arrest of the house owner who allowed hoisting o Pakistan flag atop his house and action should be treated as an act of treason.

Last week, pro Pakistan, pro-Jakir Naik and pro Owasi slogans were raised on busy Ashok Rajpath after Friday prayers. The programme was organised by Popular Front of India. Police had arrested Mohammad Taufiq, regional head of the front. Taufiq is a student of BA at a college in Darbhanga. Police investigation revealed Taufiq was getting money from abroad through hawala as transactions took place from Qutar too.
