Patna : Pakistan crushed England by 9 wickets in the first test at Lord’s, London, on May 27, 2018, taking their last four wickets for just 7 runs in the first session on the fourth day.  Resuming at their oernight score of 235/6, England were all out for 242 runs in 82.1 overs leaving Pakistan to score just 64 runs to win the match. Jos Buttler was out for 67 while  spinner Dominic Bess, 20, scored 57.  Pakistan fast bowlers Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Abbas took 4 wickets each while spiner Sadab Khan took two wickets.

Pakistan, who had scored 363 runs in their first innings taking a lead of 179 runs over England on first innings, scored 66/1 in 12.4 overs on May 27 to win the match and lead 1-0 in the series. Haris Sohail remained unbeaten on 39 with 6 fours and a six while Imam -ul- Haq, newphew of former Pakistan Captain Inzmam -ul-Haq, remained unbeaten on 18 with 2 fours. Opener Azhar Ali was out for 4 to James Anderson. England had scored 184 in their first innings.

Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Abbas, who took 8 wickets in the match, was declared Player of the Match.
